These anchors are constructed of two long flukes. The flukes pivot and will bury under the tension. Rock and grass bottoms are not good bottoms for this particular anchor. They do best in conditions that are sandy, muddy and gravelly. They are lightweight and are made very compact.
The anchor known as a Mushroom is usually a permanent anchor. They are not recommended for boats that are for recreation due to it being quite heavy. They usually weigh thousands of pounds.
